Privacy & Cookies
This page explains what data ys media collects when you visit this site, how we use it, and what rights you have under EU and Swedish law.
Who we are
ys media is a paid social and organic content consultancy operated by Joakim Carlsson, based in Stockholm, Sweden. You can reach us at joakim@ys.media for any privacy-related question.
What we collect
Contact form submissions. If you fill in the contact form, we receive your name (optional), email address, and the message you wrote. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic request information (IP address, browser, page visited) for security and performance reasons. These logs are kept for a short period and then deleted. Analytics. If you give consent through the cookie banner, we measure how visitors use the site through Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and Vercel Web Analytics. The first two are loaded through Google Tag Manager and set cookies. Vercel Analytics is cookieless. If you decline, none of these run and no analytics cookies are set.
Cookies
We do not set any tracking cookies on our public pages without your consent. A single first-party cookie is used to remember your choice in the consent banner so we don't ask you again on every page load. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel will set their own cookies (these are read by Google and Meta to recognise return visits and measure marketing effectiveness). The Sanity CMS studio at /studio uses cookies for admin login. This only applies if you log in as an admin, not for visitors.
Third parties we use
Vercel: hosting and edge delivery (vercel.com). Loops: email delivery for the contact form and the newsletter (loops.so). Sanity: content management system; case content and testimonials are stored on Sanity's servers (sanity.io). Google Tag Manager (Google): the container we use to load the analytics scripts below — only after you accept the cookie banner (tagmanager.google.com). Google Analytics (Google): measures how visitors use the site, sets cookies, fired through Google Tag Manager (analytics.google.com). Meta Pixel (Meta): measures effectiveness of our marketing, sets cookies, fired through Google Tag Manager (facebook.com). Vercel Web Analytics: aggregate page-view counts, cookieless. The analytics providers (Google, Meta, Vercel) only run if you accept the cookie banner. You can decline, and you can change your mind by clearing the site's storage in your browser. None of these providers sell your data, but Google and Meta may use the data to improve their own products. Each has their own privacy policy you can review.
Newsletter and the pace calculator
The running pace calculator at /apps is available after you subscribe with your email address. When you tick the consent box and submit, we store your email address with our email provider Loops so we can send you the ys media newsletter (occasional updates about our work and marketing). We ask for your email only for that purpose and only with your explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing joakim@ys.media, and we will remove your address. We do not sell or share the list, and we do not use it for advertising by third parties.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to: request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete data we hold about you, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with the Swedish data protection authority (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY). To exercise any of these rights, email joakim@ys.media.
Retention
Contact form messages are kept in our inbox until they are processed and the conversation is concluded. We delete inquiries that are no longer relevant on a periodic basis.
Changes
We may update this page from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current version. We will not retroactively reduce your rights without your consent.
